On Friday evening, a police officer saved a suicidal man from the top floor of State Street Capitol Garage.
According to the Madison Police Department incident report, two police officers and a sergeant were trying to negotiate with a 30-year-old man around 4:15 p.m. when he attempted to jump.
“As I lunged towards him, I saw him lean his body forward,” an officer wrote in her report. “I grabbed his left arm as I dropped my body weight towards the ground, attempting to pull him towards me.”
