A Dane County Narcotics Task Force operation Thursday morning resulted in the seizure of $80,000 worth of cocaine and arrest of two Wisconsin men.
According to a Madison Police Department incident report:
The Dane County Narcotics Task Force seized $80,000 worth of cocaine along with drug paraphernalia and more than $18,000 in cash the morning of Jan. 7.
The operation was conducted in conjunction with the Drug Enforcement Agency and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives following a months-long investigation of high-level cocaine trafficking.
Jose Almazan, 45, and Antonio Zaldivar, 35, were pulled over by authorities between Stoughton and Oregon while returning from Illinois and taken into custody after the authorities found cocaine in the vehicle.
Detectives and agents then obtained a search warrant and raided Almazan’s home in Oregon, Wis., resulting in the seizure of more cocaine and cash.
Almazan and Zaldivar were arrested for multiple drug-related crimes.
Prior to the arrests, an undercover officer purchased cocaine from Almazan at multiple locations in Madison.
