Pour it up, drink it down. A new City of Madison report shows the city’s water quality has not only met, but actually exceeded, quality regulations put forth by the Environmental Protection Agency and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.
Madison is required by state regulators to test the city’s water quality multiple times throughout the course of a year. After the thousands of water tests are complete each year, the city releases a report to keep residents informed.
“We test every single well in Madison and we put out this report that distills all of the rest results from all of our wells into this easier to read report,” Madison Water Utility spokesperson Amy Barrilleaux said.
Ald. Scott Resnick, District 8, said water is a valuable resource in Madison. He is proud to see how strong the quality of it is, and that the city is often recognized because of it.
“It is our job as elected officials to now maintain that high level of recognition and Madison commits to do so,” Resnick said.
