Showers are not the only things April brings. This month means it’s time for new cocktail menus to hit the local bars. Check out the latest refreshing spring beverages to accompany the sun shining and the snow melting.
Brickhouse BBQ on West Gorham Street features Triple Crown horse racing-themed cocktails.
One drink, called “The Preakness Stakes,” is heavy on the bourbon and muddled with raspberries and basil. Bartender Alyssa Rupert said although basil is rarely seen in cocktails, it makes for a crisp and refreshing drink.
Diego’s Mexican Bistro on State Street is serving seasonal margaritas and tequila cocktails in line with their traditional Mexican theme.
Employee Travis Splan said as the weather changes, Diego’s will be offering mojitos, Sangria, Redbull-infused margaritas and tequila and RumChata cocktails. Seasonal margarita flavors include coconut, strawberry, blueberry pomegranate and mango, he said.
Graze on South Pickney Street has created musical-themed cocktails for their spring list.
Beverage director Ruben Mendez said the cocktails on the menu were a collaboration of recipes from 10 individuals. The “Meet Me in St. LUis” cocktail is $7 and features Graze’s house jalepeno-lime-infused tequila and flavored with lime and maple syrup.
43 North on King Street is serving customers with patio-friendly themed drinks for the warm weather.
Employee Chris Cannon said the bar is serving Negroni cocktails, a special “43 North” cosmopolitan and Moscow Mules during this season.
Pasqual’s on Monroe Street is serving a nice and light margarita this month.
Bar manager, Holly Harvey, said the restaurant’s margarita of the month is grapefruit flavored and will be $6 served in a pint glass. She said this margarita will have grapefruit and pineapple juices as well as Jose Cuervo Tradicional 50 proof agave tequila.
