Madison police are investigating a robbery by a knife-wielding man at the Community Pharmacy on State Street.
Madison Police Department spokesperson Joel DeSpain said a robber, holding a knife, entered the pharmacy Monday morning and demanded drugs, including Oxycontin.
“They were all drugs kind of similar to that type,” DeSpain said. “A lot of people who are addicted to OxyContin and Oxycodone are the same people addicted to heroin.”
OxyContin and Oxycodone often lead to heroin addiction, according to DeSpain.
MPD’s has an image of the robber from surveillance footage, but the the man covered his face with two surgical masks, making it difficult to identify him.
Police hope someone will recognize the clothing or the physique of the suspect based on the image. Anyone who has any information should contact authorities.
