This weekend the annual Madison Winter Festival will once again take over Capitol Square, hosting more than 20,000 guests and promoting healthy and recreational winter living.
According to the festival’s Facebook page, there will be more than 90 truckloads of snow delivered to the Square allowing the winter activities to commence.
Some of the activities include runs and walks, tubing, ice sculpting, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. A full list of events and their respective locations can be found on the festival’s website.
Some of the wintry activities require registration in order to participate. Registration forms can be found and completed here.
Organizers are also looking for volunteers to cover three-hour shifts which will typically be outdoors. More information on how to apply to volunteer at this year’s Winter Fest can be found here.
According to Winter Festival’s website, city workers will begin setting up the festival on Feb. 14. Activities will commence Feb. 15 and last through Feb. 16 at 4 p.m.
