The City of Madison Police Department is investigating a reported armed robbery at the U.S. Bank on East Campus Mall.
A campus-wide WiscAlert was sent out shortly after 4 p.m. Wednesday warning students of the reported armed robbery. The subject was allegedly carrying a weapon and left the area traveling north.
The University of Wisconsin Police Department told students about a half hour later that “there is no threat in the area” but encouraged people to call 911 if they have information.

The WiscAlerts described the suspect as a 6’4” slim white male who was wearing a black hoodie and gray mask and was “possibly carrying a brown bag.”
University of Wisconsin Police Department spokesperson Mark Lovicott said the city is handling the case, although UWPD has police helping in the area.
