A University of Wisconsin student was walking on North Park Street with her friends when a Madison teen came up to rob her early Sunday morning.
According to a Madison Police Department incident report, the suspect came up from behind and took the victim’s cell phone, which also contained her credit card and ID card.
The victim and her friends asked for the phone back, but the suspect said she had guns and threatened to kill them.

UW police officers intercepted the suspect as she headed to East Campus Mall, where MPD responded.
Officers arrested Melanie Mabirizi, an 18-year-old from Madison, for robbery with threat of force, disorderly conduct and underage drinking.
