A University of Wisconsin senior was arrested for reportedly sexual assaulting a 21-year-old female during the early-morning hours of June 5.
According to a Madison Police Department incident report:
June 8, MPD arrested Nathan Friar, a 21-year-old UW student, for second-degree sexual assault and strangulation following an investigation.
The woman told police that morning that the incident occurred around 2 a.m. June 5 in an apartment building on the 400 block of Gorham Street.
The woman said Friar, whom she had recently met, strangled and sexually assaulted her inside his apartment.
MPD spokesperson Joel DeSpain said the preliminary reports indicate that one or both had been drinking at the time and confirmed Friar is a student at UW.
