After a sexual assault was reported on campus early Sunday morning, investigators say the assault did not occur in a campus residence hall as was previously reported.
A University of Wisconsin Police Department statement said the suspect and the victim knew each other.
“We are no longer looking for a suspect,” Marc Lovicott, UWPD spokesperson said. “There is no threat to the community and we’re just moving forward from there.”

The victim in the case is not a UW student and was a guest visiting for the weekend, he said.
Lovicott said the investigation is ongoing.
