A sexual assault occurred on the 700 block of Dayton Street near the University of Wisconsin campus early Saturday morning.
The victim was walking along the street around 2:30 a.m. when she was assaulted, according to a timely warning emailed to UW students Saturday. The victim managed to escape from the suspect, the email said.
The suspect was described as an approximately 6-foot-3 Hispanic male in his twenties, the email said. The suspect had a goatee and a mustache and was wearing a gray UW sweatshirt and blue jeans at the time of the assault, the email said.
UWPD declined further comment outside the timely warning.
