MAPLE BLUFF (AP) – Outgoing Democratic Gov. Jim Doyle tells The Associated Press he intends to remain living in Madison once he leaves office next month and hopes to land a private sector job working on issues like health care and sustainable energy.
Doyle said in an exclusive interview Thursday that he is not seeking a position with the Obama administration, he doesn’t want to be a judge, and he doesn’t want to lobby.
However, Doyle says he does want to remain active in influencing government and private industry in those areas that were a focus of his eight years in office. Doyle says he doesn’t having anything definite lined up.
Doyle says, “I’m going to work very hard. I’m not going away.”
