The ballad of Madison’s campus turkey is far from over.
For some weeks now, the elusive beast has made numerous appearances to great acclaim, delighting witnesses with her plucky demeanor and earth-toned plumage.
There’s a turkey roaming UW campus and everyone is okay with it
Such behaviors took an unexpected turn around Friday at noon, when the turkey flew through a window of Science Hall, leaving occupants with a mess of shattered glass and a startled bird to dispatch.

The bird’s motives for this incident are unknown. There may be reason to believe that this jarring entry was premeditated, as the culprit was spotted lurking around the premises several weeks ago.

Campus staff quickly removed the feathered intruder from the scene, carrying it down the steps of Science Hall while it appeared unscathed (and perhaps unrepentant) from the incident.
The turkey could not be reached for comment.
