Gov. Scott Walker met with Megabus representatives at the governor’s residence Tuesday to unveil “The Big Cheese,” a signature Wisconsin-themed variant of Megabus’ standard coach bus.
“Wisconsin is America’s Dairyland, which is why ‘The Big Cheese’ is a fitting name for our state’s bus,” Walker said in a press release.
The vehicle will likely still feature classic Megabus staples, such as a child with an iPad playing Angry Birds on full volume, a 20-year-old mother changing her son’s diaper on the seat behind you and a uniformly worthless ventilation system.
According to the press release, the vehicle received its name through Megabus’ “Name the Bus” campaign, which allowed online voters to christen 33 special buses with titles representative of the 33 states the Megabus operates.
Walker’s special new bus will likely remain subject to Megabus’ current behavioral standards for passengers. This means eager travelers are still very much allowed to argue violently with ex-lovers via a prepaid Nokia on speakerphone and spill an entire bottle of Faygo into the aisle without cleaning it up.
Walker ended the unveiling by proclaiming October 2015 as Cheese Month, doing more to honor Wisconsin’s thriving dairy industry than slapping a sticker on a bus ever could.
