Led by double winner Len Herring, the Wisconsin men’s track and field team won eight events at its own Wisconsin Twilight.
Herring, a senior all-American, won the long jump and triple jump with NCAA provisional qualifying marks. He took the long jump at 25 feet, four inches and the triple jump at 53-3 3/4.
Wisconsin swept the top three places in the long jump behind Herring with senior Chris VanTassel finishing second with a leap of 24-5 and freshman Alonzo Moore third at 23-0. Moore also finished second in the triple jump at 50-2 3/4.
B.J. Tucker and Dustin Rabine both won individual events and were also on winning relays. Tucker won the 100 meters in a season best 10.53 seconds, while Rabine won the 400-meter hurdles in 55.58.
Tucker teamed with Brandon Williams, Jvontai Hanserd and Gustin Smith to win the 4 x 100-meter relay in 40.95. Rabine, Hanserd, Ricardo Rodriguez, and Jabari Pride combined to win the 4 x 400-meter relay in 3:15.21.
Wisconsin also won the 800 meters as Darius Sanchez ran a season’s best of 1:55.16 and Jon Mungen ran a Big Ten leading 14.05 in the 110-meter high hurdles.
