Recipe of the week: Apple cinnamon muffins

This recipe is the easiest healthy muffin recipe you will ever find. Add your favorite berries, dried fruit, or nuts to make them just how you like!


Heart-Healthy Apple Cinnamon Muffins

Ingredients:

1 cup oats (quick-cooking oats are fine) 

1 cup skim milk 

1 cup whole wheat flour 

? cup brown sugar , packed 

? cup unsweetened applesauce 

2 egg whites 

1 teaspoon baking powder 

? teaspoon baking soda 

? teaspoon salt 

1 1/2 tsp cinnamon (optional) 

Directions:

  1. Combine all ingredients in a bowl.

  2. Spoon mixture into lightly greased muffin pan.

  3. Bake at 400 degrees 20-25 minutes.

  4. Let cool and enjoy!
