Glee Recap “Blame it on the alcohol”

When Principal Figgings (Iqbal Theba) institutes an alcohol
awareness week to raise awareness to students about the dangers of alcohol, the
glee club interprets the message in their own way.

Rachel Berry (Lea Michele) throws a party and serves alcohol
causing students to all experiment with a different side of themselves they
have never seen before. Rachel kisses Blaine Anderson (Darren Criss) and both
begin to think there may be chemistry between the two, and they sing The Human
League’s, “Don’t You Want Me.”
When the two share another kiss when sober they realize that Blaine is
definitely gay, and gives Rachel an experience to write about in song.

When realizing Will Schuester (Matthew Morrison) has too much
stress in his life, Shannon Beiste (Dot-Marie Jones) takes him out for a night
of fun at a “honky-tonk” bar. They both drink their fair amount and Jones makes
her singing debut, performing “One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer,” by Amos
Milburn with Mr. Schuester.

However, the experience becomes problematic for Mr. Schuester
when he leaves a drunk text message for Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch) who proceeds
to play the message on the intercom for the whole school to hear.

The glee club struggles to deal with their hangovers and find a
song to perform for the alcohol awareness assembly. Although they perform Jamie
Foxx’s, “Blame It,” Mr. Schuester does not believe it sends the appropriate
message. In the end they perform, Ke$ha’s popular single “Tik Tok.”

The performance hits a wall when Brittany Pierce (Heather Morris)
and Santana Lopez (Naya Rivera) “tossed their cookies,” causing the school to
realize the club was intoxicated while performing. However, naive Principal
Figgins believes it was all special effects and praises them for performance
and influence on other students to avoid drinking.

Meanwhile, Mr. Schuester is not quite as naive and lectures the
club that it is not professional to drink while performing. As a result, he has
them all sign a contract stating they will not drink, at least not until
Nationals. As a personal touch, he includes his cell phone number on the
contract in case any of them should ever run into trouble.

Glee will be going on a break but will return in two weeks when
Gwyneth Paltrow will return as Holly Holliday and the new sex-ed teacher.
