Grey’s Anatomy Recap “P.Y.T. (Pretty young thing)”

It was another typical episode of medicine and romance for ABC’s
Grey’s Anatomy tonight. Rachael Taylor made her second appearance as the OB,
Dr. Lucy Fields. When she and Dr. Alex Karev (Justin Chambers) meet for the
first time, the two personalities don’t mesh, but it is apparent they both
truly care about their patients.

Pregnant with her baby, Dr. Callie Torres (Sara Ramirez)
struggles to live the lifestyle that Dr. Arizona Robbins (Jessica Capshaw) and
Dr. Mark Sloan (Eric Dance) want her to live, which includes no coffee. After a
long day of struggling without caffeine, Torres eventually has her caffeinated
drink, and explains to Robbins and Sloan that she will take their help, but she
will also treat herself as well.

Dr. Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) has been helping Dr. Derek
Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey) with his clinical trial to study Alzheimer’s, but
when Dr. Richard Webber (James Pickens Jr.) offers her the opportunity to work
on a trial that would continue her mother’s research, Meredith has an important
decision to make. After she takes some time to think about it, she decides that
she wants to help cure the disease that killed her mother rather than continue
her mother’s same area of study.

Finally, for the first time this season, Jeff Perry returns as
Thatcher Grey who is suffering stomach pains. When Dr. Lexie Grey (Chyler
Leigh) goes to help him, she is surprised to find him making love with a woman
her age, calling it his “mid-life crisis.” This becomes very upsetting to Lexie
and when Dr. Jackson Avery (Jesse Williams), at the request of Sloan, talks to
her, Avery realizes Lexie is struggling, and listens to what she has to say.
Lexie appreciates Avery taking the time to listen to her, and the two agree to
have drinks at Joe’s the next night. After realizing she had come off as rude
to her father’s girlfriend, she tries to mend the poor first impression she
gave.

Next week, Grey’s Anatomy goes into a mode similar to that of
Fox’s “24”, and the one hour episode will represent one hour of real life.
Watching the episode in real time should be something different and fun for
audiences.
