Glee Recap “Silly love songs”

As Valentine’s Day was looming closer to McKinley high school,
love was in the air. As a glee club assignment, students were singing love
songs to each other and while some romance flourished, other hearts were
broken.

After winning the conference championship, Finn Hudson (Cory
Monteith) realized he can capture the heart of any girl at the school, but his
only desire is Quinn Fabray (Dianna Agron). When Santana Lopez (Naya Rivera)
realizes these two are flirting, she kisses a sick student with mono and passes
it on to Finn, and when both Quinn and Finn aren’t feeling well, she remarks in
front of the glee club that the two must have mono, or “the kissing disease.”
Obviously Sam Evans (Chord Overstreet) wasn’t too pleased about this.

After a tender moment between Rachel Berry (Lea Michele) and
Finn, Rachel is finally mustering the strength to move on from their
relationship. Meanwhile, Rachel, along with Mercedes (Amber Riley) celebrate
being single on Valentine’s Day and help Kurt (Chris Colfer) who is pining for
Blaine (Darren Criss). When Kurt does confront Blaine about their relationship,
Blaine isn’t opposed to starting a strong friendship. Maybe something is
brewing there?

Noah Puckerman (Mark Salling) fights tooth and nail to get a date
with Lauren Zizes (Ashley Fink) and eventually succeeds. Loves songs are sung
among the cast including Queen’s, “Fat Bottomed Girls,” Michael Jackson’s
“P.Y.T (Pretty Young Thing),” and show tune, “My Funny Valentine.”

The Dalton Academy Warblers have two performances in this episode
including Robin Thicke’s “When I Get You Alone,” and Paul McCartney’s “Silly
Love Songs.” Finally, Rachel belted her heart out with Katy Perry’s,
“Firework.”

It was an episode mainly about the students, but next week
audiences will see guidance counselor Emma Pillsbury (Jayma Mays) for the first
time since the winter hiatus. There will also be more Sue Sylvester (Jane
Lynch), who may be joining glee club? It should be worth watching.
