Wisconsin head coach Barry Alvarez announced today that freshman offensive lineman Nick Tofferi has left the team for personal reasons. Alvarez also announced that freshman Mike Kleber, who originally was to enroll at the University in January, will begin practicing with the team immediately and enroll this fall.

?We certainly regret Nick?s decision to leave the program,? said Alvarez. ?It?s evident that Nick is a fine young man and yet his desire to play college football was diminishing. I?m confident he?ll be a successful in the future and wish him the best of luck.?

Kleber hails from Muskego, Wis., and attended Catholic Memorial High School. He was a consensus first-team all-state selection on offense as a senior as well as conference defensive player of the year. Kleber, 6-2, 280 pounds, will play defensive line for the Badgers.

Tofferi, a native of Newaygo, Mich., was a four-year, two-way starter for Newaygo High School and a four-time all-conference selection. He has returned home to Michigan and will not enroll at the University in the fall.
