Best Drink Specials: Brothers

[media-credit name=’JEFF SCHORFHEIDE/Herald photo’ align=’alignnone’ width=’648′]Brothers-007-JS[/media-credit]No one wants to spend a fortune on booze each weekend. That's why drink specials are so important, and the majority of students agree that Brothers is the best place to go for a cheap drink. The location is great since it's near campus and a handful of other bars; the music is sometimes questionable, but people still dance; and if you stick to the specials, you won't spend too much money.

There are two floors, each with its own bar. Upstairs you can relax with friends in a booth or around the pool table, while downstairs you can shake your moneymaker on the dance floor.

If you like beer, you'll love Fridays at Brothers because they have a great FAC special: $2 pitchers of beer. You can also get domestic bottles for $2.75 on Fridays and Saturdays and Bacardi and Captain mixers for $2.50.

I think Thursday nights are the best at Brothers because they have $1 Long Islands and $2 U-Call-Its. Who wouldn't like to get drunk for $5 or less? It's great for the college student's budget.

Please remember: Just because the drinks are cheap doesn't mean you can skimp on the tips. The bartenders at Brothers do a great job, so tip them generously. And pace yourself on the Long Islands, or you could end up spending the night in your bathroom.

The runner-up, State Street Brats, is noteworthy for Flip Night every Tuesday — you can get 75 percent off your drink order if you guess the coin flip correctly.
