Monona resident Coleman Chung, who is the suspect of two attempted abductions of University of Wisconsin women, was charged Monday.
According to court documents, 30-year-old Chung faces charges of attempted robbery with use of force and battery for the Sept. 30 incident. He is facing armed robbery, attempted kidnapping and first degree reckless injury with a dangerous weapon for the Oct. 2 incident.
He is also on probation for a federal child pornography conviction.
UWPD arrests Monona man in connection to assault, abduction case
According to the initial incident, the victim was walking home from College Library when Chung placed the victim in a headlock and dragged her into a parking lot near the Sewell Social Sciences building. The victim, wearing headphones, did not hear the suspect approaching her from behind.
Chung was armed with an edged weapon and struck the victim multiple times.
Chung has been in custody at Dane County Jail since Oct. 10 after he was identified on UW surveillance footage by his probation officer.
An initial appearance is scheduled for Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. in the Dane County Circuit Court.
