It was reported to the University of Wisconsin Police Department that several UW employees have experienced multiple instances of stalking, according to a crime warning sent to students Friday via UW WiscAlerts.

These incidents of stalking were reported to be by the same individual and occurred over the last few months, according to the alert. UWPD is investigating these incidents, which occurred at or near the victims’ workplaces in the southwest part of campus, according to the alert.

Stalking is defined as engaging in a course of conduct — two or more acts — directed at a specific person that would cause someone to fear for their safety or suffer substantial emotional distress, according to UWPD.

These acts will not be tolerated on campus and may be a violation of Wisconsin law and UW Sexual Harassment and Sexual Violence policy, according to the alert. UW prohibits sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, stalking, sexual harassment and sexual exploitation, according to the alert.
