As a fully independent and student-run newspaper, The Badger Herald provides an invaluable platform for student voices. Since 1969, our paper has shed light on crucial issues and held leaders accountable through diligent reporting and thoughtful editorials. Run entirely by students, the Herald is paving the way for the future of journalism. In order to continue its important work, our newspaper relies on reader support. Donations from the community make up a significant portion of our operating budget. Your donation today will help pay for printing costs, essential newsroom expenses, and invaluable experiences for our aspiring journalists.

Day of The Badger Herald

One Herald Community, One Shared Impact. Donate April 14–April 15.

Today, The Badger Herald is joining Badgers far and wide in celebration of the Day of the Badger, an annual campus-wide fundraising event about giving back to the UW community. Join us in celebrating the work of student reporting by providing essential resources to our aspiring journalists. As a fully independent and student-run newspaper, The Badger Herald has led the way for training the next generation of student journalists, providing an invaluable platform for student storytelling.

But, we can’t continue this work without you — with the media landscape rapidly changing and production costs increasing year after year, our newspaper has become fully dependent on donations. Without your sustainable membership, our staff will not have access to the resources they need to create impactful journalism.

Will you help us raise $500 this Day of the Badger? Every contribution, no matter the size, will help ensure student voices continue to be heard.
