UW-Madison Police Department is investigating after an assault occurred early Saturday morning in the parking lot next to Camp Randall.

The attack was violent and unprovoked, and the victim sustained critical injuries and was transported to an area hospital, according to the incident report.

The suspect fled the scene and UWPD is asking for the public’s help in locating the individual.

The suspect is a Black 5’7 male weighing 185lb with black hair and brown eyes who was last seen wearing black shorts, a black hoodie, black shoes, long dark socks and a light colored hat, according to the incident report. This individual may be in possession of a BEST security uniform and radio.

The public should not approach this individual but instead call 911 immediately, according to UWPD. The public can also call 608-264-2677 with any information on the suspect.

UWPD was notified on Thursday that the victim died from the critical injuries sustained during the attack, according to the updated incident report.

The suspect is currently in custody at the Dane County Jail and UWPD recommends a first-degree intentional homicide charge.
