Police arrested a suspect for allegedly crashing his car into a 21-year-old male at the intersection of Gorham and State Street last weekend.
According to police reports, 22-year-old Carlos Padilla allegedly did not stop at the State Street intersection and ran into the victim April 6 at 3:07 a.m. The suspect then sped off without leaving his car or checking on the victim.
The clash broke the victim’s leg, for which he received treatment at University Hospital.
Drivers are required by law to stop and aid anyone harmed in a car accident involving their vehicle.
Madison police Hit and Run investigators arrested Padilla and charged him with failure to render aid, operating after suspension of his driver’s license and probation hold.
Padilla’s license also faced charges of operating a vehicle under suspension of his license last November.
