After two performances that left a lot to be desired, the Wisconsin football team hopes to shore things up this week as it hosts the Arizona State Sun Devils.
This will be the Badgers toughest test so far, as the Sun Devils possess a tough defense and a no-huddle spread offense that put up crooked numbers against Portland State and Northern Arizona. A win over a BCS foe like ASU would be a big confidence booster, as Big Ten play begins in two weeks.
While the two teams haven’t met since 1968, (UW trails in the all-time series 0-2) the Badgers will meet a familiar foe in Sun Devil quarterback Steven Threet. UW last saw Threet when he was helping the Michigan Wolverines to the second-largest comeback in their history, back in 2008. Up 19-0 at halftime, the Badgers would end up losing to the Wolverines 27-25 at the Big House.
