Hockey up, basketball down

Following their 3-point weekend against WCHA rival Minnesota, the Wisconsin men’s hockey team took a jump in the [USCHO.com polls](http://www.uscho.com/rankings/). Before the series with the Golden Gophers, the Badgers were ranked No. 16 in the nation. With a win and tie, they moved up five spots to No. 11. Minnesota dropped a spot, from 17th to 18th.

In college basketball, the UW men’s team fell just two spots in both the AP and USA Today [polls](http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/rankings) after losing their first Big Ten game of the season against Purdue Saturday. Before the loss, they sat at No. 11, their highest ranking of the season, but dropped to No. 13 in both polls. Memphis, Kansas, Duke, UNC and UCLA round out the top five of both.
