Tyler Donovan ran back-to-back option plays. UW will feature more option this year than in recent years past, largely because Donovan is much more fleet-footed than former starter John Stocco, who ran a slower 40-yard dash at the NFL combine than UW lineman Joe Thomas.
As a prep quarterback at Arrowhead High School, Donovan used his speed to run his share of options. His speed could be an X -factor for UW this year. He needs improve his accuracy throwing on the run, however, as he overshoots an open Paul Hubbard on third down and the Badgers are forced to punt. DeBauche hits a good kick. but it trickles into the endzone for a touchback.
