Mark your calendars, pop fans — superstar Harry Styles is set to release his fourth studio album, “Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally” tonight at 11 p.m. CT. The long-awaited project comes after Styles’ last record “Harry’s House,” which was released all the way back in spring 2022. This marks four long years during which high school seniors listening to “Harry’s House” while eagerly anticipating graduation became college seniors who will do the same with Styles’ new project.
“Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally” has only been heard by a select few lucky enough to be chosen for one of Styles’ exclusive listening parties Feb. 18. Just two U.S. cities were chosen to host these parties; Los Angeles, California and — drumroll please — Madison, Wisconsin.
Though many fans online were confused why our beloved (yet somewhat obscure) city was chosen to host such an exclusive event, Styles has been known to have an affinity for Wisconsin — specifically the Green Bay Packers — even sporting a “G” tattoo on his arm in the team’s honor. The Madison listening party took place at Lola’s Hi/Lo Lounge.
But not all of us were so fortunate as to get a sneak peek of the new album. Most fans are still in the dark as to what the record will entail, the only preview being Styles’ lead single “Aperture,” which was released Jan. 22.
The Billboard Hot 100-topping “Aperture” features an electronic, synth-pop and disco-like style, venturing from Styles’ more classic pop sound seen in his last two albums and the rock style present in his debut album. In “Aperture,” a soft essence of melancholy is enveloped within nightclub beats and energetic production.
While the song’s daring new genre definitely took a risk, it has left fans even more eager to hear what the rest of the record will entail. Will the entire album follow this electronic, synthy path, or will Styles return to his typical sound? Signs point to the whole record continuing in this new direction.
“I think this is the most open I’ve felt with the music-making process. I think before, with the last couple of albums that I made, I always felt so guarded about what I was making,” Styles said in an interview with KIIS-FM.
Is this the beginning of a brand new Harry? There’s only one way to find out: when the clock strikes 11 p.m., grab some friends, put on some disco lights, crank the speaker to its highest volume and get ready to Kiss All the Time (and Disco, Occasionally).
