The Dungeon Cocktail Experience, an immersive Dungeons & Dragons-themed improv comedy show, is coming to Madison Oct. 16-18.
Creator of the experience and the show’s Dungeon Master Jesse Theiler is a D&D player and co-owner of Monkey Business Institute, an improv company located in Madison.
At the Dungeon Cocktail Experience, guests can expect an adventure-packed evening. With the audience’s help, D&D characters and an adventure are created at the show on the spot. The performers on stage start as players at a game table and begin playing D&D.
“When there’s action or something really interesting happens, then those gamers get up, and then they portray their characters on stage,” Theiler said.
Every adventure is unique, shaped by audience participation, improvisation and a roll of the dice.
In addition, each adventure features musical improv, adding a unique twist that makes every performance unpredictable and entertaining.
Three D&D-inspired cocktails are featured at the show — Elixir of Arcane Brilliance, The Bards’ Harmony and Potion of Strength. Each drink ties into the night’s adventure, with mocktail versions available for all three.
Four different ticket tiers are available — Silver, Gold, Platinum and Diamond. The base tier, Silver, includes general admission seating, the three themed cocktails and a chance to be on stage. VIP tiers offer additional interaction with cast members, upgraded seating and more opportunities to be part of the show.
For University of Wisconsin students, a special Adventurers Party Pack is available, which offers a buy four tickets, get one free deal.
The Dungeon Cocktail Experience is for ages 21 and up, and it will take place at the Wisconsin Masonic Center, located at 301 Wisconsin Ave. The experience, excluding preliminary shows for VIP tiers, lasts 90 minutes and goes from 6-8:30 p.m. Tickets are available here.
