University of Wisconsin reached peak fall Saturday as participants rowed enormous pumpkins across Lake Mendota in the 11th annual Giant Pumpkin Regatta.
The Horticulture Department grew and provided the giant pumpkins, which the University of Wisconsin’s Hoofer Sailing Club crafted into small boats.

Each round, up to four participants sat in the giant pumpkins and paddled back and forth a short distance on Lake Mendota to the cheers of friends, family and other pumpkin-loving well-wishers.
