Grey’s Anatomy Recap “Don’t Deceive Me (Please Don’t Go)”

After a few eeks off, the medical drama returned last night in a
typical program of drama but medicine performed nonetheless. In the last
episode, viewers left stunned when Dr. Callie Torres (Sara Ramirez) announced
she was pregnant with Dr. Mark’s Sloan’s (Eric Dane) baby. Although it was hard
for Dr. Arizona Robbins (Jessica Capshaw) to swallow, she wasn’t as frustrated
as Dr. Lexie Grey (Chyler Leigh) who is distraught that Sloan has put her in
this situation twice.

Dr. Derek Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey) is continuing his clinical
trail for Alzheimer’s/Dementia patients and has recruited Dr. Alex Karev
(Justin Chambers) to help with angers Dr. Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo).
However, when Karev finds treating Alzheimer’s patients to be frustrating and
constantly taking Meredith’s advice, he quits the clinical trial and urges
Shepherd to fill his spot on the team with Meredith.

Dr. Teddy Altman (Kim Raver) is performing a unique surgery on a
heart patient, and both Dr. Cristina Yang (Sandra Oh) and Dr. Jackson Avery
(Jesse Williams) are pining to scrub in. To impress Altman, Yang and Avery try
to deliver high quality patient care until Yang pulls our her “traumatized from
the shootings” card, tricking Avery, and earning her a spot across from Altman
at the surgical table.

Finally, the new age of technology has caught up with the show
and Dr. Miranda Bailey (Chandra Wilson) has decide to tweet her surgeries to
she can educate medical residents across the country. At first, Chief of
Surgery, Dr. Richard Webber (James Pickens Jr.) does not approve. However, in
one particular surgery when complications arrive, a local hospital offers
equipment not available at Seattle Grace Mercy West via twitter. They pause the
surgery to retrieve the equipment and the patient was saved. As Webber slowly
starts to realize the benefits of this technological opportunity, the more he
starts to like it and by the end of the episode, actually starts to encourage
it.

For the most part, it was a typical episode for the show. Grey’s
Anatomy was recently renewed for an eighth season, so hopefully more excitement
will be arriving soon if they want to hold onto viewers for another year.
