After looking at the March page of my calendar, I realized one of my favorite seasons of the year has arrived: spring cleaning. I love making space in my closet, refreshing my room for spring, organizing my junk drawer and everything in between.
Below are a few tips to make this year’s spring cleaning your best yet.
Throw away old packaging and tags
If you’re anything like me, you hang on to packaging and tags just in case you decide to return something. Let’s be real: If you’ve had the item for more than two weeks, you’re probably keeping it. Do yourself a favor and toss the tags stuffed in the back of your drawer.
Invest in a mop
Consider this your sign to graduate from the Swiffer to the real deal: a mop. Once you mop for the first time, your floors will never feel clean without it. I may be late to the game, but I invested in an O-Cedar mop this year, and it genuinely changed my life. It works on wood, tile, walls and more.
Become a Depop warrior
Selling on Depop is a win-win. You make space in your closet and earn some extra cash. Plus, calling yourself a Depop seller comes with automatic cool points. It’s an easy way to clear out pieces and make room for your spring wardrobe refresh.
Refold your clothes in drawers
Refolding clothes one drawer at a time can completely transform your organization. Gone are the days of jamming drawers shut or digging for that one T-shirt. I still use the KonMari Method to fold almost all of my clothes, and it never fails. Throw on your favorite TV show in the background — it’s surprisingly relaxing.
Dust. Every. Surface.
Ever since I bought a Scrub Daddy Damp Duster, I almost look forward to dust collecting on my dresser. Dusting is my favorite cleaning task, and this tool takes it to the next level.
Whether you plan to deep-clean your home from top to bottom or simply commit to making your bed every morning, spring cleaning is the perfect opportunity to take better care of your space.
