Despite many students having to wait nearly two hours to buy tickets for the 2013 football season, the Wisconsin student section sold out for the 20th-straight season Monday morning after tickets went on sale at 7:30 a.m.
With many students expressing on Facebook and Twitter difficulty maneuvering a bogged down uwbadgers.com website to purchase tickets this year, it took twice as long for tickets to sell out when compared to last year’s sell out time, which was under an hour.
This year’s student ticket package included seven home games against Massachusetts, Tennessee Tech, BYU, Purdue, Northwestern, Indiana and Penn State. Student season tickets were sold at $168 per package with a $20 processing fee.
The Camp Randall student section consists of 14,000 seats – with 12,300 being allocated to undergraduate students and the remaining 1,700 tickets going to graduate students – located between sections P and J on the north end of the stadium. Graduate student tickets are set to go on sale July 9 at 7:30 a.m.
Wisconsin will kick off the 2013 season against Massachusetts Aug. 31 at Camp Randall.
