Former Wisconsin running back Montee Ball was arrested early Friday morning and charged with battery after he allegedly pushed his girlfriend into a table at a hotel in downtown Madison.
Police were reportedly called around 3:45 a.m. Friday and Ball was taken from the Hampton Hotel and Suites on W. Johnson Street to Dane County Jail on initial charges of substantial battery.
Madison Police Department spokesperson Joel DeSpain told the Wisconsin State Journal that the woman who was assaulted said Ball, “put his hands on her, picked her up and threw her.” The woman reportedly needed stitches as a result of the cut on her leg.
DeSpain said Ball was “cooperative.”
After being cut by the Denver Broncos last season, Ball had a short stint with the Patriots’ practice squad this year before their season ended.
