A suspect has been arrested for committing assault and possession of cocaine with the intent to sell at Memorial Union last Wednesday.
On February 18 at 12:14 p.m. a victim called the University of Wisconsin Police Department and reported an assault at Memorial Union. Upon contacting the suspect and a subsequent search, cocaine was found in his possession.
The suspect was identified as Tyrone Jackson and the amount of cocaine found in his possession was large enough to file charges for possession with intent to sell in addition to the charge for sexual assault.
“It’s in the hands of the district attorney’s office and the courts now,” Marc Lovicott, UWPD spokesperson, said. “We did our job as a police department, it’s now in the hands of the D.A. office to figure out charges.”
