Wisconsin now has at least 7,660 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and at least 334 deaths, according to the Department of Health Services.
Dane County has 433 cases and 22 deaths. Milwaukee County has 3,147 cases and 191 deaths.
Friday, May 1.
Today the Wisconsin Department of Health Services reported the highest one-day increase in COVID-19 cases, with 460 new cases since yesterday.
Wisconsin now has at least 7,314 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and at least 327 deaths, according to the DHS.
Dane County has 430 cases and 22 deaths. Milwaukee County has 3,044 cases and 186 deaths.
Despite the large number of new cases, the Wisconsin Supreme Court today took up a case by Republican lawmakers that might end Gov. Tony Evers’ Safer at Home order, according to reporting from the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. The order is currently set to go until May 26.
Thursday, April 30.
Wisconsin now has 6,854 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and at least 316 deaths, according to the Department of Health Services.
Dane County has 428 cases and 22 deaths. Milwaukee County has 2,940 cases and 181 deaths.
Dane County announced they will enter a multi-billion dollar partnership with a local food bank in a statement today.
$3 million in county funds will go to Second Harvest Foodbank of Southern Wisconsin, the statement said. This will support Dane County food pantries over the next 90 days. The county also announced they will get four cold storage trailers for the food bank to store more fresh food grown and produced in Dane County.
Wednesday, April 29.
Wisconsin now has 6,520 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and at least 308 deaths, according to the Department of Health Services.
Dane County has 424 cases and 22 deaths. Milwaukee County has 2,815 cases and 177 deaths.
The University of Wisconsin released their budget furlough policy updates today. Starting May 15 and running until October 31, UW will roll out graduated furloughs, which are periods of unpaid leaves, for their employees.

The City of Madison and Dane County announced they would put forth budget amendments to support COVID-19 relief efforts through Public Health Madison and Dane County.
These amendments will use funding from the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act. Out of $694,068, $250,000 will be used to support self-isolated people, and another part of the funding will create eight staff positions — two Public Health Nurse positions with an emphasis on infection control, four Disease Intervention Specialist positions to do contact tracing and two communications positions to support tailored messaging and outreach.
Tuesday, April 28.
Wisconsin now has 6,289 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and at least 300 deaths, according to the Department of Health Services.
Dane County has 417 cases and 22 deaths. Milwaukee County has 2,722 cases and 174 deaths.
Today Gov. Evers directed the Department of Natural Resources to re-open several state parks, forests, and recreational areas.
The DNR will reopen these 34 state parks and forests May 1 under special conditions to help minimize overcrowding. The buildings and restrooms at these parks will remain closed.
Monday, April 27.
There are now 6,081 cases of COVID-19 in Wisconsin and at least 281 deaths, according to the Department of Health Services.
In Dane County there are 412 cases and in Milwaukee County there are 2,674 cases and 167 deaths.
Today Gov. Evers announced Emergency Order #34, allowing nonessential businesses to do curbside drop-off of goods and animals.
According to the press release, this will let businesses like dog groomers, small engine repair shops, upholstery businesses, self-service car washes and outdoor recreational rentals safely reopen.
Sunday, April 26.
Wisconsin now has 5,911 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and at least 272 deaths, according to the Department of Health Services.
Dane County has 405 cases and 21 deaths. Milwaukee County has 2,629 cases and 162 deaths.
