A University of Wisconsin student is missing after last being seen on campus Saturday.

Nakul Kalra was last seen at Union South at 3 p.m. Saturday, according to the Madison Police Department.

A statement from police said Kalra’s friends and family had not heard from him since then, which is very uncharacteristic.

Foul play is not suspected in the disappearance, MPD Sgt. Sarah Shimko said.

Kalra is approximately 5’ 5″ and 175 lbs., with black neck-length hair and brown eyes.  He may be carrying a blaze orange satchel with a laptop.

Anyone who sees a person matching his description should call 911.

Update (March 17 4 p.m.): A team of detectives is working out of a command post as they continue to trace Kalra’s whereabouts, MPD spokesperson Joel DeSpain said.

A K9 picked up a tentative route Kalra may have traveled in the downtown area and MPD are reviewing surveillance cameras in the area to see if there are any sights of him, DeSpain said.

Kalra was supposed to travel home for spring break but never arrived, DeSpain said.
