University Police and University Apartments staff fear that residents of the apartment complexes are in danger of yet another predator on the University of Wisconsin campus.
University Apartments has released a Resident Safety Alert to all its residents. A man claiming to be a physician has been contacting residents of University Apartments and offering physical examinations.
University police and staff of University Apartments, also referred to as Eagle Heights, are encouraging residents of the area to become familiar with the description of the man, his actions and his intent.
The man involved is white, 40 to 50 years old, about 5 feet 9 inches tall, medium build and clean-cut with balding gray hair. He has been spotted wearing a dark green Columbia brand winter coat with black and tan patches near the chest.
The man has called and visited Asian women in the community, telling them he is a physician and offering physical examinations. He has contacted some residents on more than one occasion.
Residents of University Apartments are advised by police to keep all doors locked, even when at home. It is also recommended to not open the door to anyone who is not carrying proper identification, which all staff of University Apartments carries.
Staff from University Apartments said they could not presently provide any more information about the incidents. University Police were also unable to provide any further information.
Anyone who has been contacted by the man or knows someone who has, and has not already contacted police, is advised to contact University Police at 262-2957 to provide information about the man.
