According to Associated Students of Madison Press Director Ken Harris, ASM was to release an end of the year statement where they would trumpet their accomplishments this year.
Well, that was supposed to be Tuesday. It’s Thursday and I’ve not seen anything.
Now, it’s not as if they haven’t accomplished anything this time around: If you see the report card here, as harsh as we were on SC, they do have a direction in some aspects. And, as one ASM member harped on me about earlier, they have made sure the Madison Initiaitve proposals have gone through with some expediency and oversight.
Yet, it’s times like this that you wonder what one branch of ASM is doing: The Press Office. Sure, I like Ken’s blogging and think that if they expanded that service to every committee meeting, we’d have one hell of a service for the student body. But that’s not happening. And instead of a statement on ASM accomplishment’s we got this release on the upcoming textbook swap. Which, hey, glad to know it’s happening, but where’s the accountability on ASM’s part?
Oh, and by the way — the Herald will be live blogging all SC meetings next semester. Perhaps we’ll post on other committee meetings as well, but that’s yet to be seen.
