Wisconsin defensive backs coach Daronte Jones is leaving the Badgers to take a job as an assistant defensive backs coach with the Miami Dolphins of the NFL, according to ESPN NFL insider Adam Caplan.

Jones was only with the Badgers for one season, but under his direction Wisconsin had one of the toughest secondary groups in the nation. Jones helped Tanner McEvoy, who had a team-high six interceptions last season, develop into one of the nation’s most productive safeties.
As a unit, the Badgers’ secondary allowed just 173.2 yards per game — good for seventh fewest in the country — and recorded a total of 12 interceptions in Jones’ sole season with the team.
Jones is now the second University of Wisconsin assistant to leave the team this offseason, after defensive coordinator Dave Aranda left for LSU in January.
