In response to "Muddy waters" by The Badger Herald Editorial Board:
The Herald ed board gets it right here. And calls for civility, though increasingly cliche when offered from the pens of newspaper pundits, should always be welcome in politics. But does the Herald have no stance on the issue itself? Mr. Doyle is embracing an ex post facto approach to American law. In response to "9/11 anniversary calls for goodwill" by Jason S. Ebin:
If 9/11 had really changed us, there'd be a 150-story building on the site of the World Trade Center today. Instead there's a pit, and arguments over the usual muted dolorous abstraction approved by the National Association of Grief Counselors…
In response to "Vigilance needed to combat crime" by Dylan Rath:
I carry a knife with me. I would like to carry a gun, but the filthy, bleeding heart liberals won't allow me to protect myself. And if I did stab a hobo who tried to rob me, the filthy liberals would want me to go to jail for defending myself. A safe madison is an armed madison.
In response to "It's not easy being GOP at Wisconsin" by Sara Mikolajczak:
Thank you … for showing us liberals how poorly we've been treating you peace-loving conservatives. We should show you the same respect you show to minorities, immigrants, gays, poor people, women, and non-Christians. If Jesus was here, he would be ashamed of us liberals and our crazy ideas. Sorry, our bad.
In response to "Majestic loses sparkle; city should close club" by Emily Friedman:
Silly girl…the authorities are only worried about bars with drink specials that encourage binge drinking or someone lighting up a smoke! Shootings, stabbings and mobs? Eh…
