A 22-year-old Madison man was arrested for trying to fight college-aged men at the corner of West Main and South Basset in the early hours of Saturday, Sept. 21.
A Madison Police Department incident report said the suspect, Kishawn Brown, was arrested after police saw him punch a 21-year-old in the face after witnesses said he made threats to people as they walked by.
MPD spokesperson Joel DeSpain said officers reported the suspect had made numerous threats toward police. DeSpain also said Brown claimed the people he attacked had been racists.
The victim who police witnessed getting punched did not suffer any serious injuries but was taken to the hospital for minor injuries, according to DeSpain.
Brown was taken to a hospital for cuts he suffered during the altercation, threatened hospital staff and was later jailed, DeSpain said.
