Madison Police Department responded to robbery on the 300 block of W. Dayton Street around 6:00 p.m. Sunday.

According to an MPD incident report, a woman, 58, reported being followed by an “aggressive panhandler.”

When the man would not stop following her, the victim pulled out her cellphone and threatened to call 911. The man subsequently stole the woman’s purse and took off.
