A Madison woman’s life hangs in the balance after suffering a potentially fatal stab wound from 63-year-old Tony Mason.

According to a Madison Police Department incident report, Mason stabbed his female acquaintance while driving down Nolan Drive in Madison Friday around noon.

As the female escaped his grasp, he fled the scene in a 2010 Nissan Sentra, 4-door vehicle with a broken right rear window and decal on right rear door.

Mason has a valid arrest warrant for attempted homicide of a Madison woman and is sought by detectives for questioning.

Mason may still be armed and his whereabouts are unknown. MPD warns against attempting to contact Mason and urges anyone to call 911 if Mason is spotted.

The investigation remains ongoing.
