The Madison Police Department announced Sunday in a report that Freakfest 2017 on State Street went as planned, with some minor violations and 11 arrests.

19,000 tickets were purchased for the 12th annual Freakfest, down from 30,000 in 2016. MPD attributes the reduced crowd size to the cold weather.

As of 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, there were 11 arrests made with only two sent to jail. Others were cited and released for minor violations such as having alcohol open in the street.

The Madison Fire Department also responded to nine minor medical incidents, according to the report.

MPD worked with the Dane County Sheriff’s Department, the UW-Madison Police Department and the Madison Fire Department to oversee the annual Halloween celebration.
