Three to five young women attacked a 26-year-old female on Langdon Street early Sunday morning around 1:20 a.m.

According to a Madison Police Department incident report, a private security guard and members of the Guardian Angels, a group of community members who patrol and make citizen arrests, worked to detain three of the suspects.

The victim and a friend were walking when several women attacked from behind, pulling her to the ground.  The victim curled up in a fetal position as the suspects kicked and stomped her.

A security guard saw the attack and heard a suspect say “Let’s get that one” before the assault.

Though the attack did not last long, the victim suffered bruises to her head. Madison paramedics did a check.

When the suspects fled, the security guard alerted Guardian Angels who caught three of the suspects.

Denae McClarn, a 20-year-old from Madison, was arrested and identified as someone what battered the victim.

A 16-year-old female from Belleville and a 16-year-old female from Madison were cited for curfew violations.

The police said it seems to be a random act of violence. The investigation is still continuing.
