At least 20 students were delayed in getting their student voter IDs Monday after a Gordon Commons printer failed to work for several hours.
Gordon Commons opened its doors Monday for the first time as a valid voter ID printing location, University of Wisconsin spokesperson Meredith McGlone said. But soon after it opened, the brand new printer the university bought to print student voter IDs failed to work properly.
Students were then sent to Union South to pick up their voter IDs at the Wiscard office, while Dean of Students Lori Berquam investigated the matter after students complained about the broken printer on Twitter.

After several hours, the printer was fixed and is now up and running. Students can pick up their voter IDs at either Gordon Commons or Union South until 8 p.m. Monday. Both offices will reopen Tuesday morning at 7 a.m., McGlone said.
