The Madison Police Department has charged a suspect in the State Street Brats and Mineral Point Road shootings with attempted murder.
In April, a shooting at State Street Brats and a shooting at Toppers on Mineral Point Road occurred within hours of each other. MPD connected the shootings. The victim at State Street Brats was not the intended target of the shooting, but the victim at Toppers was, according to The Badger Herald’s past coverage.
The suspect is charged for the shooting at the Toppers on Mineral Point Road, Joel Despain, MPD spokesperson, said.
Murad S. Laiti, thought to be the driver of the car that brought the shooter to Toppers, has been arrested. The shooter, believed to be Nigel T. Goodwan Jr., is still at large, Despain said.
